Meet Rusty

Rusty Walker’s story begins on a Ward 4 ballfield, where—back in 1972—he took his first swings under the watchful eye of his dad and the neighborhood coaches.

Decades later he stood on that same diamond, this time guiding his own daughters and sharing the lessons in teamwork and grit he’d once received.

Today, as his grandchildren grow up in Ward 4, those hometown roots run deeper than ever.

Ward 4 isn’t just a district Rusty serves

—it’s the heartbeat of his life. It’s where he learned to ride his bike in the same school parking lot he later taught his daughters, and where the values of community and service were instilled in him. As your City Councilman, Rusty carries that legacy forward.

“When I first ran for office, I promised to make Gulfport a place where families like mine could thrive,” Rusty shares. “Through steady leadership and smart fiscal choices, we’re keeping that promise—without raising taxes.”

With more to achieve, Rusty’s vision for Ward 4 burns bright: a stronger, safer, and more vibrant Gulfport for every generation.

"With your support, we’ll keep building a future we can all cherish." -
